BlueAnchor Associates Angee Holford
Angee is particularly keen to offer a varietry of courses including the new Work/Life Balance programme that not only includes Stress and Time management but family care solutions too. For a growing number of working parents they not only have their own children to provide care for but also their elderly relatives. Some families may have the extra stress of finding care for a child or adult with special needs. It is these families we can uniquely help and in turn they will be more productive in their work. As a delegate told me at the end of a ‘Choices in Childcare’ presentation - “You can earn all the money you want but if your family life is not in order you are not able to do your job properly”. Angee Holford qualified as a NNEB Nursery Nurse in 1981 as Eastbourne College, East Sussex. For fifteen years she worked full time as a children’s nanny. Caring for all combinations and ages of children from different types of families. She lived both in and out with these jobs and travelled abroad with some. This resulted in many good, bad, funny and embarrassing experiences. Whilst working as a nanny Angee has also had the opportunity to work as a Playgroup supervisor, Assistant at a summer playscheme, a Childminder and to become part of a nanny share arrangement. During this time Angee also gained the Preschool Learning Alliance certificate and studied psychology for three years. It was while working as a nanny for Amanda Cuthbert in 1990 that they decided to write a book together. THE BRIEFCASE AND THE BABY – A NANNY AND MOTHERS HANDBOOK. This book was published in 1992 and since then it has added a new dimension to Angee’s career. After taking part in several T.V and radio interviews, Angee was asked to join committees and working groups discussing the future of nannies. She also wrote articles for the Nursery World magazine including an agony aunt section. Angee was a regular guest speaker at the national Nanny conference. It was through this that she was approached by British Airways to help develop and speak on their Crew Care seminars and be their Child Care consultant. This she has done for the past 15 years. Her first child was born in 1994; Angee continued to work taking him with her. She finally retired from working as a nanny and representing them nationally after the birth of her daughter in 1997. Her second daughter was born in 2001. Her seminar work has continued through out this time. Angee hopes that she can help other working parents with her training, knowledge and experiences from being on ‘both sides of the fence’. Angee will be presenting and providing a variety of courses for BlueAnchor and specializing in the following:Choices in childcare: There is a giant maze of childcare problems for most parents to find their way through before they can return to work .For some it may seem too much of an uphill struggle and cause a great deal of stress. However with the right information and knowing where to start most problems can be solved. This presentation gives a comprehensive guide to your choices in childcare, whatever your circumstances. Choosing childcare: It is a recognized fact that for working parents to be able to do their jobs properly they will need to be happy with their childcare arrangements. Having made your decision on which type of childcare you need there is a still a difficult task ahead. How do you interview a prospective childminder? What do you look for or ask a new nursery? How do you stop your mother in law filling your children with sweets? This seminar can help you with these and many other questions as well as providing a guide to all the law requirements. This seminar can continue from Choices in childcare or be held on its own. Financial Help with childcare costs: This seminar works well with the two above or on its own. The financial help that parents can receive from their employers and the government are explained. Delegates are informed on ther work related options and entitlements when having children and wishing to work. This includes free early years education for 3 & 4year olds and childcare vouchers. Knowing the financial options for working families may mean the difference between being able to work or not.
