Personal Coaching Sessions

Coaching is a process designed to help individuals gain greater competence and overcome barriers to achieve success. Coaching differs from training, which is a structured process to provide people with the knowledge and skills to perform job tasks.  Coaching is appropriate when the person has some ability and knowledge but performance is not maximised. Coaching is provided on a one to one basis with a qualified coach for 1.5 to 2 hours over 3 to 10 sessions.

What isn't coaching? Coaching is not counselling. Counselling focuses on personal issues, often from the client’s past, while coaching focuses on present performance and how to excel in the future.

What will happen on the first session? We will

  • Discuss coaching preparation (see example questions below)
  • Determine a ‘contract’ for how we will work together
  • Discuss strengths and opportunities for development
  • Agree on goals for the coaching sessions and your personal development
  • Discuss the format the sessions might take
  • Agree next steps and follow up
